Atlas Turf International Limited is proud to support Sentosa Golf Club with the continuing education seminars provided during the Barclays Singapore Open. Each year, Sentosa Chief Agronomist Andy Johnston recruits volunteers to assist with course maintenance for the tournament. The volunteer corps is made up of golf industry professionals from around the world, most of whom are golf course superintendents. Sentosa receives the highest quality volunteer support, helping the club to provide course conditions rivaling any tournament in the world. In return, Johnston offers volunteers continuing education in their field.
This year, Sentosa will offer two half day seminars. Atlas Turf is providing the session for Tuesday, November 6th focusing on golf course sustainability. The seminar will be led by Ben Gibson of e-Par, covering environmental issues specific to golf course maintenance. Wednesday sessions are provided by Centaur Golf and Wendall Trading and will include Sam Bauer of the University of Minnesota presenting on social media in turfgrass management and Russ Mitchell of Controlled Solutions presenting on the differences between post-patent pesticides and branded products.
Atlas Turf wishes Sentosa every success with this year’s Barclays Singapore Open scheduled for November 8th through 11th and looks forward its involvement in the golf course industry education program.
