With a soft opening held in December, the TifEagle Bermudagrass greens at Laguna Lang Co are already in play. The 18-hole, par 71-championship golf course designed by Sir Nick Faldo lies near Lang Co Bay in the Chan May region of Vietnam, overlooking the East Sea. Set amongst mountains on three sides and coastline to the west, Laguna Lang Co offers golf in a remarkable setting.
“We are happy with the way the TifEagle has established,” said Paul Jansen, Faldo Design Lead Architect at Laguna Lang Co. “The speed, consistency and playability of the greens are excellent and have been well received by the golfing public.”
TifEagle, released by plant geneticist Dr. Wayne Hanna, is the world’s most widely used ultra dwarf bermudagrass. Over the years, TifEagle has performed well in tropical conditions such as those in Vietnam.
“We are excited to again be working with Faldo Design,” said Atlas Turf President John Holmes. “Laguna Lang Co is an extraordinary project. As golf continues to grow in Vietnam, this unique course will certainly stand out as one of the country’s best.”
The course, constructed by TEHC International of Singapore, measures nearly 7,000 yards from the championship tees and just over 5,000 yards from the front tees.
